Pentecost in Jerusalem the Golden

After a rather broken nights sleep on the flight on the way over it was a relief to find that the train into central Jerusalem was extremely efficient and border control very smooth.

After a restorative mid morning nap at my friends flat it was time to head out to mass at the Dormition Abbey celebrerete by the Latin Patriarch where the new Abbot was also installed. It seemed fitting that one should scale Mount Sion upon arriving in Jerusalem, through walking through the idyllic Yemin Moshe neighbourhood where one can see the famous Montefiore windmill.

Afterwards it was a stroll through the old city for as long as I could stay awake aided by freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
