When I was last in Jerusalem I visited just two museums – the Israel Museum and Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum- both were excellent. This time as my friend was staying near the Islamic art museum I went there as well as the Israel museum and the Tower of David which had recently re-opened, possibly that very day as they were still finishing wiring!

At the Israel Museum there was an exhibition by the contemporary artist Zohar Gotesman in the archeology section.

I loved the care of detail and the humour used to make this piece of art.
This another amusing piece that made me chuckle was this 2300 year old sarcophagus.

In my final full day in Jerusalem I went to the recently re-opened Tower of David which shows the history of Jerusalem, the map of the city and puts it in context with world history. They have some excellent animations and not to mention views of the city!
